There’s no better place to go to provide flimsy excuses for a failed presidency than a fake news show on Comedy Central.

It really is perfect because the only thing more comical than President Obama’s presidency is his spin and lies to try to save his laughable legacy.

And on his seventh and final appearance on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, President Obama’s deceptive lies reached new heights of absurdity.

Breitbart News reports:

Obama explained that accusations that they were specifically targeting conservative organizations was false and that IRS employees were simply implementing laws passed by Congress “poorly and stupidly.” […]

Obama went on to say that the “real scandal around the IRS is that they have been so poorly funded that they cannot go after these folks who are deliberately avoiding tax payments.”

It seems our President needs to be reminded of his past statements and the facts.

Unfortunately for him, facts are indeed stubborn things.

In August 2010, President Obama began his public campaign against grassroots conservative groups with statements like “Right now all around this country there are groups with harmless-sounding names…” and addressing the threat of “attack ads run by shadowy groups with harmless-sounding names.”

Later on that year, he went on to warn against conservative groups posing “as non-for-profit, social welfare, and trade groups” and called these average Americans concerned about his policies as “a problem for democracy.”

So can we really be surprised that the out-of-control federal bureaucracy under President Obama’s presidency decided to use the levers of power to target conservative groups and harass them?

After Lois Lerner tried to stage a faux-apology to make the scandal go away, the truth began to emerge.  The Obama Administration DOJ launched a full criminal investigation. Attorney General Eric Holder even called the IRS’s actions “outrageous and unacceptable.” This followed after President Obama’s statements that the targeting was “outrageous” if true and IRS officials would be held “fully accountable” if they had not been neutral and non-partisan.

The IRS was not and is not neutral. They are the epitome of partisan.

But words mean nothing. These investigations have gone nowhere and done nothing.  The IRS continues to stonewall efforts from Congress to investigate this scandal.

President Obama has subsequently referred to the politicization of the IRS as a “phony scandal” and that “there is not even a smidgen of corruption” in the IRS.

Now, thanks to the hard work of conservatives in Congress, we know that the IRS was conspiring with the DOJ and FBI to target grassroots conservatives. No wonder the DOJ and FBI’s investigation went nowhere!

The IRS and Lois Lerner said they couldn’t find her e-mails during the ongoing targeting… until they were found along with evidence that some were destroyed by IRS officials in violation of congressional subpoenas and judicial orders.

And now, we have the leader of the free world peddling lies on Comedy Central, blaming Republicans for the Obama Administration’s IRS unconstitutionally targeting grassroots conservatives.

The law he blames was passed over a half century ago.

The bureaucracy he claims is underfunded has admitted to wrongdoing that gets worse with every passing revelation.

It would be laughable if it weren’t so true.
