Pink connotes female.  Blue connotes male.

This is how it’s been for decades and decades, and is most obvious when it comes to babies.  People have “gender reveal” parties now, allowing guests to bite into a cake to see what color is inside.  If the inside of the cake has been dyed pink, it’s a girl.  If it’s blue, it’s a boy.  But a gender reveal party using those colors would now be a “bias incident” if it happened on the campus of Williams College.  The above pictured “men” and “women” port-o-johns would also fall into that category.

Why?  PJ Medias Tom Knighton has the scoop:

You see, the school has declared a number of things to suddenly be horrible, and one of these things is using pink and blue to denote feminine or masculine. In fact, the school referred to such things as “abhorrent and intolerable.”

According to The College Fixother abhorrent and intolerable things at Williams College now include “[t]elling someone they have to wear pants because they are male and a skirt because they are female,” and “imitating someone’s cultural norm or practice.”

Ridiculous. Tuition, by the way, for Williams College is not cheap.  In fact, it’s over $50,000.  When you add room, board, and other fees, the total skyrockets to over $66,000.  And for what?  To teach students that they are being micro-agressed if they see the color pink to represent a female?

What happens when they get out into the real world and are invited to a gender reveal party?  Or they go to their local gym which has a pink “woman” symbol on the sauna?  Will these students throw fits?  Call the cops? Cry?

Knighton continues:

The real world doesn’t and shouldn’t give a damn about these made-up “sensitivities.” It uses pink for women, blue for men. We eat Chinese food and buy sombreros and ponchos. We even share our religious beliefs about what people should wear. We understand the difference between being kind and being a legitimately dangerous bigot — it’s not that hard.

Exactly.  Sending your kid to college should prepare them to think logically in the real world.  Williams College is preparing their students to fail, and fail in the most pathetic way possible: by being so soft they can’t even walk out their doors without being offended.
