High School Math Teacher Suspended for Saying ‘Nice Job, Girls’ to a Group Which Included a Transgender Student

A U.K. high school math teacher noticed that a group of girls was working hard in class.  “Well done, girls,” Joshua Sutcliffe said to them as he walked by them.  That was enough to get him suspended and possibly fired from the job he loves.  Why?  One of the girls suffered from the delusion that she was actually a boy.

Because she identified as a transgendered person, she preferred to be called a boy.  When the twenty-seven year old teacher realized this preference, he immediately apologized….  But that was not enough.  Sutcliffe’s encouragement was considered so deeply offensive and harmful that he might be fired.

“I had always tried to respect the pupil and keep a professional attitude as well as my integrity, but it seemed to me that the school was trying to force me to adhere to its liberal, Leftish agenda,” Joshua Sutcliffe said. “I have never been trained to deal with this sort of thing. I felt completely out of my depth and intimidated.”

Of course he’s never received training on what to say when one of your students insists that others participate in a lie about her gender.  We should never be forced to participate in this deception.

After Sutcliffe apologized, he didn’t think much of it.  But six weeks later, he was called to the office.  A “transgender complaint” had been filed against him.  The Daily Mail has more:

The investigation concluded that the “misgendering” of the pupil and “avoidance of using gendered pronouns contravenes the school’s code of conduct with regard to demonstrating an awareness of sexual and cultural diversity of students and use of insensitive comments towards young people” and “the use of religious comments in maths lessons demonstrates a failure to comply with school policies.”

The teacher, you see, is a Christian who doesn’t want to be forced into affirming this student’s terrible decisions.  “I have balanced these factors by using the pupil’s chosen name, and although I did not intentionally refer to the pupil as a ‘girl,’ I do not believe it is unreasonable to call someone a girl if they were born a girl,” he said.

Of course it’s not unreasonable.  But in today’s academic environments, political correctness has run amok.  Liberal fascists don’t want you to merely accept their lunacy. They want to punish you if you don’t promote,  encourage, and celebrate it.
