As a black Republican woman, Winsome Sears made history in the Virginia state elections three weeks ago by being elected as lieutenant governor. But that historic accomplishment has been drowned out by the mainstream media continuing to support the idea that black women are inherently disadvantaged because of their identity. Sears said she’s “destroying all of the narrative about race” after her big win against a seemingly white Democratic woman who NBC described as an “Afro-Latina.” The lieutenant governor-elect has become a threat to the liberal narrative. Her success story has the potential to open the minds of other African Americans and women, both of which tend to be loyal to Democrat politicians. So, what has the media done to alleviate the threat? Here’s a recent headline on Sears, who doesn’t even take office until January 15, 2022, from Rolling Stones: “Virginia’s Lt. Governor-elect Interview Veers Off the Rails as She Spreads Covid Misinformation.” SEE ALSO: Colin Kaepernick Redefines “Racism” We can’t forget MSNBC’s Joy Reid, whose show guest called Sears a “black mouth” for “white supremist practices.” “You have to be willing to vocalize that these Republicans are dangerous,” Reid said. “That this isn’t a party that’s just another political party that disagrees with us on tax policy. That at this point, they’re dangerous. They’re dangerous to our national security, because stoking that kind of soft, White nationalism eventually leads to the hardcore stuff,” Reid said following the big Republican wins in Virginia. The ironic part about this narrative failure is that race and gender are the two things currently being attributed to Vice President Kamala Harris’ awful ratings. “I do think that it has been easier and harsher from some in the right wing who have gone after her because she is the first woman, the first woman of color. I’m not suggesting anyone will acknowledge that publicly,” Psaki told Politico.“ But I do think there have been some attacks that are beyond because of her identity.” SEE ALSO: A Vision of the Radical Left’s America: At Least You Still Have Netflix Let’s get this straight – Sears made it through the supposed setbacks of her race and gender and was elected by Republicans, yet the vice president has a terrible approval rating because of her race and gender? Democrats need to stop their victimhood narrative. It’s not going to be believable for much longer as more conservative Americans from diverse backgrounds are elected to office. Progressives love to prey on subgroups, which requires a discriminatory mindset in the first place. Sears can bring affirmation, hope and pride to many groups who share the same conservative values. While liberals will be quick to attack her once she is in office, those attacks will expose the truth that their actions are motivated by politics and manipulation.
