It's no surprise American citizens have little faith in our federal government. The shocker comes in the overwhelming percentage of citizens who find our government corrupt.

In other words, the Donald Trump vote = the “what the hell” vote, and it’s not altogether unreasonable.

Well, most people think the IRS targeting scandal is dead and buried — at least so far from people's thoughts that it's no longer significant. Yet it, too, is coming back.

We complain a great deal about the ever-growing government. Here’s some great news for a change: the government actually became less restrictive in one very important way.

In movies, documents have a large, red stamp at the top: Classified. The stamped documents – which have been replaced by e-mails, phones, or thumb drives – have to be protected from the bad guys at all costs. Patriotism runs deep -- its in our blood -- instilled by the Founding Fathers and flamed by people of this great nation.

Gov. Greg Abbott recently called on his fellow Texans to join the push for a Convention of States. Following this plea, he readily provided his solution to our nation's ever-growing federal dilemma. Ninety-Two pages is nothing short of complete dedication -- the perfect example of what we need to turn our country around.

With the coming of a new year, resolutions are on the forefront of many peoples' minds. But in this case, it's not a promise to go to the gym or do something new that is causing a stir. The new year brings with it the promise of hope -- hope for a Convention of States in 2016.
