This is the nail in the coffin.

This is the final straw.

First, we had to turn a blind eye to consenting adults who engaged in weird sexual behaviors. Then we had to accept them. Then we had to celebrate them.

We had to share in their pride.

Then they came after our kids and parents who spoke up were investigated. They normalized sex reassignment surgeries for minors and parents who protested were punished.

All the while, this radical crowd known as the LGBTQ community migrated from the fringes of the far left and took up residence with mainstream Democrats.

Now, a breaking report from Pennsylvania reveals that the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services “since 2015 [has spent] more than $16.7 million in tax dollars… on puberty-blocking drugs, cross-sex hormones, and gender-related surgeries for minors.” The Pennsylvania Family Institute reports that Democrat Governor Tom Wolf “unilaterally changed state policy to cover things like double mastectomies to remove healthy breasts from minor girls and irreversible experimental hormones for children.” The institute further notes that “drugs used to chemically castrate convicted sex offenders are being funded by tax dollars for minors.”

Enough is enough.

With every passing day, it becomes easier to argue that the “transgressives” have gone too far.

We’re no longer debating whether two consenting adults can engage in homosexual sex. We’re debating whether two-year-olds should be handing cash tips to drag queens. Whether your money should pay to mutilate a minor’s healthy body. Whether teenage girls should be robbed of their breasts at your expense.

The left would say, unequivocally, yes. And mainstream Democrats parrot their response. Even some Republicans are giving in. (The Republican Party celebrated pride month this year and Fox News extolled the “beauty” of transgenderism).

Most Americans would say there should at least be a few limits on what the LGBTQ community is allowed to do, specifically to children. But if we accept their premise (that we should embrace and see the beauty in any “non-traditional” lifestyle) we must follow it to its logical conclusion.

That is to say, if we celebrate pride month and cheer transgenderism when it appears on Fox News, we have no grounds to stand on should we snivel and cry foul when they cross our arbitrary line.

The good news is that this means a wake-up is inevitable. Many well-meaning Americans went along to get along, never dreaming that love and acceptance would one day encompass the chemical castration of children.

They waved their pride flags. They supported sexual orientation and gender identity passively but never connected the dots.

Now that they see the other side, the uglier side of the LGBTQ agenda, they want to pump the brakes.

For them, the arbitrary line was crossed.

Though I said people like that have no grounds to stand on, I do not mean that they should fall silent. As long as they do not try to hold both positions at once, they can perhaps be more effective voices against the madness of transgenderism than those who have always been against it on a religious basis.

They must be willing to admit, however, that we got to this place–that the arbitrary line was crossed–because of everything that came before this moment. Taxpayer-funded sex reassignment surgeries did not sneak up on us overnight.

We got to this place by our spineless concession that free people in a free country have the liberty to do essentially whatever they want. When conservative David French called drag queen story hour “one of the blessings of liberty” he effectively conceded to the same line of thinking that would produce legalized child mutilation.

He does not see it that way, of course. But the LGBTQ ideology is a runaway train. Once you get on board, there is no regulating where it will end up. In one lifetime, it took us from debates about gay sodomy to grown men twerking for children to mainstream Democrats using your money to carve up kids’ bodies.

Enough is enough. Our only option is not to slow the train or control where it is going, but to get off completely.

This does not mean we mistreat LGBTQ people or ban them from society. It means we stop playing with fire. It means we need the backbone to say even in a free country, there are transcendent rules of right and wrong, and we break them at our own peril.
