Columbia University claims to pride itself on its diversity.  However, the College Republican student group is now being investigated after student government officials reported the group to the Student Conduct Office for “discrimination” and “harassment.”

Yes, really.

They must’ve done something really bad, right?  Campus Reform has all of the gory the details:

In a resolution passed Sunday night, the Columbia College Student Council voted to file a discrimination and harassment report against CUCR, citing the group’s invitation of conservative speakers such as Tommy Robinson and Mike Cernovich.

If you’re wondering Cernovich is a political blogger and Robinson is the founder of the English Defense League.  The group explained to Fox News why they invited these conservatives:

“[Columbia University College Republicans] is hosting a wide variety of speakers that identify as part of the Republican Party or the right,” the group said in a statement to Fox News. “We will host speakers that agree and disagree with Trump; we do not want to limit ourselves and the values that we will discuss.”

It continued: “Our club wants to have a conversation regarding the ideas of our speakers by learning about them, questioning them, and ultimately challenging them on their beliefs.”

Hold on, were you really waiting for more?  No, that’s it.  The College Republicans were reported for being Republican.

This is George Orwell 1984 level stuff here, folks. In fact, the leader of the College Republican group said, “This is a direct attack on our existence. They’re doing it because we think differently.”  Truer words have probably never been spoken on that campus.

Columbia administration, are you going to actually celebrate diversity or snuff it out?  It’s up to you.
