China Asks American University to Exclude South Koreans; University Is Fine with That

If Lebron James and the NBA were not enough cowardice for you, even more Americans have been bowing to the Chinazis lately. The University of Rochester in New York has a music school which features the Eastman Philharmonia.  Recently, when this group was planning to tour China, the Chinese government refused visas for South Korean student musicians.

Whereas normal vertebrates would stand up to China and refuse to let them get away with their bigotry, the Eastman Philharmonia bent over backwards to make sure China’s demands were met.  Not only did the university cave, the students caved too.

Joseph Galamba of the Violinist blog, reports that “the students in the orchestra themselves voted overwhelmingly to go ahead with the tour by leaving their peers behind.”

How disgraceful!  “By bowing to Chinese demands and enabling them to dictate exclusion on the basis of nationality in their orchestra, the students and administrators of Eastman have shown a remarkable lack of character and have put a black mark on the reputation of classical music when we can ill afford it,” he wrote.

Mike LeChance over at Legal Insurrection asks a very provocative question and makes another great point.  “One has to wonder how this would have played out if China wanted to exclude students from other groups. Would the tour still be on if black or gay students were refused?”

Exactly.  This is a horrific double standard and red-blooded Americans should not stand for this.

We are indoctrinating a generation of fascist speech police on our “elite” college campuses.  These are the future political, economic, and educational leaders of our nation.  May God have mercy on us…we (and our children) are in for a very rough time.
