The U.S. Congress rarely has the courage to vote on proposals that might hurt their reelection chances, but this week’s “vote-a-rama” put our elected “representatives” on the record—and Democrats should be embarrassed.

As a prerequisite for passing their insane, $3.5 trillion “human infrastructure” package through the budget reconciliation process, senate Democrats held a series of symbolic votes that allowed Republicans to get their colleagues on the record on a variety of important issues.

As expected, the Democrats proved once again that they are certifiably insane. The mainstream media is making much of the 99-0 vote in which senators agreed that they don’t want to defund the police. But there were tons of other amendment proposals that didn’t get as much media attention from the Democratic PR agency that is corporate media.

Here’s a quick rundown of some of the amendment proposals Democrats blocked:

  • To create a fund to help low-income, minority, and special needs students that suffered from school closures pushed by teacher labor organizations that ignored the science. The fund would also help ensure that all schools should be open for in-person learning 5 days a week for the 2021-2022 school year. All Democrats voted against this measure, and it failed.
  • To create a fund that restricts the U.S. from sending taxpayer money to the United Nations until they certify that no members are state sponsors of terrorism. All Democrats voted against this measure, and it failed.
  • To create a fund that would prohibit illegal aliens with criminal records from receiving conditional or lawful permanent resident status in the U.S. All Democrats voted against this measure, and it failed.
  • To create a fund that will means-test electric vehicle tax credits to ensure high-income individuals do not get government subsidies to buy expensive luxury cars. All Democrats except Sens. Kelly, Manchin, and Sinema voted against this measure, which allowed it to pass.
  • To create a fund to make sure illegal immigrants are deported who may contribute to the spread of COVID-19. All Democrats voted against this measure, and it failed.
  • To create a fund to help prohibit abortions of children with Down syndrome. All Democrats voted against this measure, and it failed.
  • To create a fund prohibiting the teaching of Critical Race Theory in pre-K, elementary, and secondary schools. All Democrats except Sen. Joe Manchin voted against this measure, which allowed it to pass by one vote.

The Democrats claim to be the party of the oppressed, the party of the working class, and the party of reason. But they voted against helping low-income students hurt by pandemic lockdowns. They voted in favor of funding terrorists, letting illegal immigrants spread COVID in the U.S., and giving subsidies to wealthy electric car owners. They voted to kill children with Down Syndrome and to force our kids to listen to the Marxist nonsense that is Critical Race Theory.  These are just facts, and they are now on the record.

None of this should be terribly surprising to liberty-loving Americans, but some Democrats try to claim that their party isn’t actually crazy.  They say that you can find crazy leftists on Twitter, but that Democratic leaders at the highest levels of power don’t actually want to pursue policies that kill children, subsidize wealthy people, spread COVID, indoctrinate kids with racism, promote tyranny, and destroy liberty.

Well, it doesn’t get much more powerful than the U.S. Senate, and we just witnessed vast majorities of Democratic leaders vote exactly the way Republicans predicted they would.

If this doesn’t convince you that Democratic priorities are totally crazy and out of step with most Americans, I don’t know what will.
