In case you missed it, last week, Mexico’s military and the Mexican drug cartels went to war with each other.

The Mexican government launched a 3,500-man operation to capture El Chapo’s son, Ovidio Guzmán López, which quickly escalated into an armed, bloody conflict. Ten soldiers and 19 cartel members were killed, but López was ultimately arrested. The drug lord had previously been detained in 2019 but was promptly freed after hundreds of his gunmen retaliated with violence.

Shocking videos of the violence quickly circulated on the internet.

Days later, President Joe Biden managed to make time for a brief trip down to America’s southern border.

For the first time since he took office!

“Your visit to our southern border with Mexico today is $20 billion too little and two years too late,” Texas Governor Greg Abbot lambasted Biden in a letter he personally handed to the president. “Moreover, your visit avoids the sites where mass illegal immigration occurs and sidesteps the thousands of angry Texas property owners whose lives have been destroyed by your border policies.”

“Under President Trump, the federal government achieved historically low levels of illegal immigration,” he later pointed out. “Under your watch, by contrast, America is suffering the worst illegal immigration in the history of our country. Your open-border policies have emboldened the cartels, who grow wealthy by trafficking deadly fentanyl and even human beings. Texans are paying an especially high price for your failure, sometimes with their very lives, as local leaders from your own party will tell you if given the chance.”

Of course, Biden has heard all of this before.

For nearly two years, the oldest president in American history has been warned about his self-induced immigration crisis.

Many have sounded the alarm that cartel violence–just like the drugs and trafficked children–might soon begin pouring into the country from across our southern border.

But Mr. Biden has hardly seemed bothered at all.

“Every single Border Patrol agent that I’ve spoken with is extremely frustrated and upset about what just took place,” said the irate president of the National Border Patrol Council, Brandon Judd. “They are upset that he was not willing to see what’s actually going on,” he continued, pointing out that the town he visited, El Paso, was cleaned up before the president’s overdue visit.

But while the American people are seething at their president, there is at least one person who is on his side.

Mexico’s president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO).

Days after his country was embroiled in a fierce war to rein in a murderous drug lord, President Obrador publicly applauded Biden for not building “even one meter” of a border wall.

Keep in mind Obrador is the president who proudly embraced a policy of “abrazos, no balazos” (hugs, not bullets).

Whose side is Biden on? His own border patrol agents are fuming at him, but hey, at least he clinched the gushy praise of Mexico’s peacemongering president!

His people are pleading with him to alter his ramshackle immigration policy, but at least AMLO has got his back.

Joe Biden seems to have forgotten that he was elected to serve the American people–not embolden Mexico’s cartels or build rapport with a foreign pacifist.

Our president is endangering our lives as he stumbles to secure our borders.

But again, at least Mexico is on his side!
