Obamacare has never been popular with the general public, and its popularity continues to fall as its burdens become more obvious.  At what point is this tyranny?   Today, according to the most recent polling, only 35% of Americans have a favorable view of the legislation, 53% support efforts to block or change the legislation and only 33% believe “opponents should accept Obamacare as the law of the land.”

We have a massive piece of legislation which even today most in Congress who voted for it haven’t read, which most citizens and members of Congress don’t understand, and which is deeply unpopular with the American people.  Yet we have a Senate and a President who refuse to listen to the American people when messing with a very personal area of their lives, their health care.  If this isn’t tyranny, what is?

    “If this isn’t tyranny, what is?” I can’t think of anything any more tyrannical than forcing people to do that which they do not want to do, AND making them pay for it. “You have a choice, you must spend all your vacations in Death Valley or Antarctica and you are going to pay for it or pay a tax if you refuse to take a vacation. Accept it as the law of the land.”

    Every day we look more and more like a pre-revolution country. And not as much like pre-revolutionary America…more like France. According to Tocqueville, “In the eighteenth century…the government of France was already highly centralized and all-powerful; indeed, the range of its activities was prodigious. We find it constantly coming to the rescue of individuals in difficulties, issuing permits of vetoes, as the case might be; lavish of promises and subsidies.
