I was shopping at Urban Outfitters in Ann Arbor, Michigan when I noticed this sign on the door of a fitting room.  It read, “All Gender Fitting Room: Open to All Persons, Regardless of Gender Identity or Expression.”

Now, I’m not opposed to dressing room areas that are gender neutral.  In some stores, especially smaller ones, it might even make sense.  But, why even have a sign?  I mean, why not just call it a “fitting room” and be done with it?  I wouldn’t be confused, would you?

Or, before 2018, there was an all-encompassing word that didn’t offend anyone: unisex.  Remember that non-offensive word?  With the prefix “uni-” that would effectively accommodate the “other 55 genders,” right?

No, this was virtue signaling, pure and simple.
