Kim Kardashian Refuses to Criticize Trump Despite David Letterman’s Urging

Kim Kardashian West appeared on David Letterman’s acclaimed show, “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction,” where she stood firm avoiding being pressured to insult the President. The episode, which was recorded before the Wuhan-Flu pandemic, will soon be aired on Netflix. Letterman quickly instigated conversation about Kardashian’s criminal justice work with Trump.

Letterman quickly set the tone.  It was obvious the last thing he wanted to do was shine a positive light on the Trump administration. “I’m grateful for what you’re doing, but it doesn’t make me feel any better about the current administration,” he confessed. Kardashian, who has refrained from publicly insulting the President, simply responded, “I understand that.”

She elaborated on the importance of the work she has been doing, along with the controversy which has followed her. “Trust me, everyone called me and said, “Don’t you dare step foot in that White House or your reputation is done,” recalled Kardashian, according to The Daily Beast. “And I said, ‘I have to step foot in there or these people’s lives don’t have a chance.”

Kardashian honorably worked with the Trump administration to free Alice Marie Johnson. Johnson, who had served over 20 years for a nonviolent first time drug offense and was once told the only way she could reunite with her family was “as a corpse.”

Kardashian and Trump saved this woman’s life. Now Kardashian is putting aside partisan politics, in order to use her platform to free people in bondage.

Kardashian also refused to play the politics game. When Letterman asked her who she’s voting for, she masterfully answered, “I know who I’m voting for,” not giving him the satisfaction. The interview was recorded before her husband Kanye West started campaigning for his independent run.

The host recognized Kardashian had been doing noble work.“But see, your good work is overwhelming,” Letterman conceded. “It’s a positive force that diminishes what I consider to be unacceptable behavior by the president.”

Kardashian didn’t acknowledge the ‘unacceptable’ behavior. Instead she spoke of how she is thankful for her opportunities to work with the Trump administration, and hopes to “stay focused” on what she can accomplish.
