College Will Host Terrorist as Part of ‘Resistance’ Event

San Francisco State University has announced the university will host Leila Khaled. She is a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PLFP) and the first woman to hijack an airplane.  Oh, and she really broke the glass ceiling, because she did it twice: once in 1969 on a Tel Aviv-bound flight and again in 1970 on an El Al flight to New York. She was later released in exchange for civilian hostages.  At 76 years old, she still has ties to the evil group.

The PLFP is a militant group responsible for several hijackings and killings, identified as a terrorist organization by the US, Israel, Canada, and the EU. They were heavily involved with suicide bombings and terrorism in the early 2000s. 

On September 23rd, Khaled will be speaking via Zoom at an event titled, “Whose Narratives? Gender, Justice and Resistance: A Conversation with Leila Khaled,” hosted by Department of Arab and Muslim Ethnicities and Diasporas Studies. The event is hosted by Prof. Rabab Abdulhadi, who has been accused of fostering a climate of hate on campus towards Pro-Israel students. 

Makes you wonder who San Francisco State University is going to ask to speak at commencement.  Osama Bin Laden isn’t available now, is he? What 9/11 hijackers? 

SFSU President Lynn Mahoney stood behind the decision in an email:

“An invitation to a public figure to speak to a class should not be construed as an endorsement of point of view. Higher education and the college experience are an opportunity to hear divergent ideas, viewpoints and accounts of life experiences” she continued. “An important outcome of the college experience is to learn to think critically and come to independent, personal conclusions about events of local and global importance,” she wrote. “A university is a marketplace of ideas, and San Francisco State University supports the rights of all individuals to express their viewpoints and other speech protected by law, even when those viewpoints may be controversial.”

I believe in freedom of speech more than anyone. I’d never want it to be illegal for someone with radical ideas to speak. 

However, this invitation reveals a great deal.  SFSU isn’t tripping over itself to invite conservatives on campus, is it? Of course not.  You can easily tell what voices they are happy to promote. 

A known terrorist should not be indoctrinating our kids.
