No Biggie: Democrat U.S. Senate Candidate Has Guillotine Logo

One Maine politician is not going for subtlety or nuance… or even logic.  Democrat Bre Kidman revealed her logo for her United State Senate race, and it is a guillotine.

Yes, really.

Here’s her announcement of it on Twitter:

Here is the tweet:

People were naturally quite confused by this selection.  The guillotine, of course, is an execution device known for its role in the bloody 18th century French Revolution. But Kidman says this is precisely why she selected it as her campaign logo, saying she wants a revolution amongst the low and middle-income.

Wait, wut?

“The guillotine is an image which calls to mind what people have done for revolution before,” explained Kidman. “If we can find a better path to revolution than that we owe it to ourselves and our country.”

Let me get this straight.  Her logo is a substandard tool of “revolution,” but a very good tool of murdering people? Kidman is an attorney vying in the Democrat primary to challenge Republican Sen. Susan Collins, but this logo should be a deterrent for any rational voters.

Having a guillotine is not wise in this polarizing day and age, when it seems like our national nerves are frayed.  Last week, more than a dozen public schools were in lockdown over threats made to Senator Collins and the schools. Also, she received three new credible death threats against her last week.

This logo is tone-deaf, illogical, unwise, and harmful.

Kidman self-identifies as a socialist, so I guess having a tone-deaf, illogical, unwise, and harmful advertisement for her brand is at least truth in advertising.
