The radical left-wing group called Antifa has been violently attacking Americans from coast to coast. The most recent attack came over the weekend when an armed 69-year-old antifa member attacked an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Tacoma, Washington after writing, “I am Antifa.”
When police shot and killed the assailant, his group described him as a “martyr.”
This story could’ve been even worse if not for the brave and quick-thinking police. Thankfully, most Americans would see an attack on our immigrations as an attack on America itself. Right? Not so fast. Reporter Keean Bexte asked Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) if they’ll condemn the violence, and they remained silent.
Strike that. They didn’t remain silent. Omar broke out into laughter at the question. I’ll post the video below, but first some background. There’s a lot happening in these few minutes.
First, Bexte asks Omar whether she had been, in fact, married to her brother. This possibility came to light when documents suggested she lived with her current husband, Ahmed Abdisalan Hirsi, while legally married to her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi.
“It kinda blew up in your face when you didn’t respond about your brother — it made it look like you married him,” the reporter said. “You could finish that question now, if you come up with an answer. Did you marry your brother?”
Omar didn’t reply.
“Do you feel like you bear any responsibility for what happened?” he asked. “Mrs. Cortez, do you feel responsible at all? Will you tell Americans not to be violent anymore?”
By this time, Rep. Omar had crawled into the waiting car and she is seen and heard laughing.
President Trump got a lot of heat for suggesting the these Democratic congresspeople might not love their country. Maybe one way for Omar to show the love she says she has for America is to condemn all armed attacks on it.
People, particularly politicians, refuse to answer very straightforward questions when the answer will incriminate them, or worse, make them unelectable.
