TeenVogue recently featured an article by Dr. Tlaleng Mofokeng explaining to teens why “sex work” is a perfectly fine career path and should be decriminalized everywhere.
Mofokeng defines sex work in this way:
Not all sex workers engage in penetrative sex, though, undeniably, that is a big part of sex work. Sex-worker services between consenting adults may include companionship, intimacy, nonsexual role playing, dancing, escorting, and stripping. These roles are often pre-determined, and all parties should be comfortable with them. Many workers take on multiple roles with their clients, and some may get more physical while other interactions that may have started off as sexual could evolve into emotional and psychological bonding.
Then Mofokeng compares being a doctor to being a prostitute. “I am a doctor, an expert in sexual health, but when you think about it, aren’t I a sex worker? And in some ways, aren’t we all?” she asks.
Um…. No. Last I checked, I’m definitely not a “sex worker.” Mofokeng explains her completely illogical and dangerous position:
I exchange payment in the form of money with people to provide them with advice and treatment for sex-related problems; therapy for sexual performance, counseling and therapy for relationship problems, and treatment of sexually transmitted infection. Isn’t this basically sex work?
Well, maybe in the same way that a lit match is “basically” Chernobyl.
But whether this doctor thinks she’s a sex worker or not is beside the point. Why on earth would a magazine dedicated to teenagers choose to publish such a pro-prostitution article? What sort of women do TeenVogue’s editors want to create?
Nothing says “progressivism” than telling young women that commodifying one’s body is a perfectly acceptable career path. Nothing says “leftism” than exposing children to damaging ideas under the guise of sexual liberation.
I agree with Donald Trump, Jr., who tweeted:
“This is how deranged the left is. Imagine trying to normalize this to a teen and even preteen audience!?! Maybe start with STEM before jumping to prostitution as a career choice for our young women. Nothing is sacred to these sickos and they’re influencing our youth.”
Exactly. Any parent who lets their daughter read Teen Vogue should be ashamed. Our girls deserve better than the toxic “empowerment” liberals shove down their throats.
