On November 23rd, Judge Bill Gravell was fined a thousand dollars for violating his own emergency Wuhan-flu order.
“Judge Bill Gravell was charged on Monday, Nov. 23, for violating his emergency management plan in spring 2020 when he attended his grandchild’s birthday party, according to his attorney and court records. Back in April, Gravell extended the county’s Stay Home Stay Safe order until the end of the month,” KVUE-TV reported.
Judge Gravell’s neighbors filed a criminal complaint after photographing the judge arriving at the party in fire protection equipment. A special prosecutor was appointed, and Gravell paid the price, literally. Gravell agreed to pay the fine (magnanimous of him!) and offered a statement. “I apologize to the citizens of Williamson County for my lapse in judgment. I will continue to do my best to guide and protect every life, every family, and every business in our great county.”
The attorney for Judge Gravell noted he was the only person to be prosecuted for such a violation. Was he the only violator? Of course not. Seems like all of these regulations are largely for show.
The funny part is… I empathize with him. He is just trying to live his life. If he would only let everyone else do that, too. The Judge went to his Grandson’s fifth birthday party. That should be his choice, but HE extended the order making it illegal.
The judge’s emergency order limited all travel unless for “essential” purposes. These lockdowns have been going on long enough, maybe Gravell will make the case his grandson’s 21st birthday will be essential.
