Last week, the internet was abuzz when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) “stood up” to President Donald Trump during the impeachment developments. A photo of her, as the only woman at the table, went super viral. She was standing as she made a point in the Cabinet Room of the White House.
President Trump tweeted out the image, saying that this photo was evidence that Pelosi was having an “unhinged meltdown.”
The news media loved this image, saying that she was a strong woman standing her ground against the most powerful man in the world. (Pelosi used the image as her Twitter profile.) Yet, former Arizona Governor Jan Brewer made a very astute point about the media’s double standard.

That is exactly right, and Brewer is correct to point this out. Here’s what you need to know about the “women’s movement.” It only applies to Democratic women. When feminists see a Republican woman standing up to men in power, they do not automatically swoon as they do when Democratic women do the same thing. In fact, they viciously attack them and label them with sophomoric and inaccurate names.
I love that women are seeing this rank double standard and calling Democrats out on it.
