3. Fordham University

Standing up for free speech will always mean standing up for students who support organizations of questionable politics. FIRE has fought on behalf of the anti-Israel group Students for Justice in Palestine. Fordham University ruled against allowing an SJP chapter at the school stating FU “cannot support an organization whose sole purpose is advocating political goals of a specific group, and against a specific country” and added that “the Israeli-Palestinian conflict… often leads to polarization rather than dialogue.”

This is the same resistance conservative groups face all the time, so FU made FIRE’s list.
