Erica Kious, owner of the San Francisco salon Nancy Pelosi attended without wearing a mask, revealed Wednesday night she’s shutting down her salon. She made her announcement on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight. “I am actually done in San Francisco and closing my doors, unfortunately.” “I started to just get a ton of phone calls, text messages, emails, all my Yelp reviews…saying that they hope I go under and that I fail, so just a lot of negativity towards my business.” “I’m actually afraid to go back. It’s a little scary and sad. I do have a lot of positive calls and text messages from clients. But other than that, nothing but negativity.” Pelosi has outspokenly supported wearing masks, even calling for the CDC to mandate them in June. She has critiqued Republicans, including Donald Trump, profusely for a more lackadaisical approach to the facial coverings. When the video of her standing in a salon without a mask went viral, she was caught. Instead of admitting her hypocrisy, she called it a “set up.” “So I take responsibility for falling for a setup. And that’s all I’m going to say on that,” Pelosi said, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. “I think that this salon owes me an apology, for setting me up. I take responsibility for trusting the word of the neighborhood salon that I’ve been to over the years many times, and when they said, ‘We’re able to accommodate people one person at a time.’ I trusted that.” Wait, what? Should we be nervous the third in line for nuclear launch codes could be fooled by a hair salon? “There was no way I could’ve set that up,” Kious told Carlson. “I’ve had a camera system in there for five years. I mean, I didn’t go in there and turn cameras on as soon as she walked in and set her up. So that is absolutely false.” Fortunately enough for Kious, people have recognized Pelosi’s lives are costing a woman her business. Some Republican state governors have offered Kious to assist her in setting up her salons in friendlier states. A GoFundMe was started for the salon owner which as of now has raised over $330,000. Hmm. The next time you see the Democrats rolling out their pro-woman, pink-hat, female empowerment schtick, remember this moment: one of the most powerful women in America put the blame for her own behavior squarely on the shoulders of a female small business owner. Inexcusable.
