I’d trust Hillary Clinton to tell the truth about as far as I’d trust her husband in a crowd of co-eds. But like her party’s current leader, the former Secretary of State and failed presidential candidate is getting on in years, and she just slipped up and let the cat out of the bag.

In a recent interview on CNN, Fareed Zakaria asked Clinton whether she supported President Joe Biden’s “more ambitious role for the government.” Bill Clinton and Barack Obama pursued big-government policies, but neither were able to implement the kind of world-changing, socialist agenda currently being pursued by the White House.

Clinton’s answer was revealing.

“It wasn’t until the pandemic that I think a truly working majority of Americans, crossing party lines as we’ve seen, because of the approval that Republicans and independent voters are giving Biden, suddenly understood in a clear way that, you know what, there’s lots of times when we need the government, and we’ve been exposed as lacking in the kind of investments and support that we, as Americans, should be providing each other with the government as our partner,” Clinton said.

“And I’m thrilled that President Biden is taking advantage of this moment to try to push the agenda as far as possible. I think both, you know, Presidents Obama and Clinton did, too, but they were more constrained given what the climate was politically during their administrations. So, yes, I think it builds on a lot of what did happen in prior Democratic administrations. But it also goes further. And it can go further because people understand, guess what, you know, we kind of were failed by our government for four years when we confronted one of the worst health care crises, economic crises that our country has seen.”

Did you catch that? Hillary Clinton is ecstatic because she believes the COVID-19 pandemic has taught Americans to “need government,” and she’s cheering for Biden to use this “crisis” to take his radical agenda as far as possible.

None of this is new to liberty-loving Americans. We’ve known for the last 14 months that the Democrats will use COVID to push big-government policies that transform our country into a socialist state. They’d like nothing better than for We the People to be so dependent on the federal government that we stop pursuing our own self-government and obey the dictates of our betters in D.C.

But to hear Hillary Clinton admit it is shocking. The Democrats aren’t even trying to hide their agenda any more. They think the American people are on board, so they see no need to Trojan Horse their policies in legislation like Obamacare.

Democrats are dead wrong, and I have the data to prove it. Rather than becoming more satisfied with the size and scope of the federal government, Americans are less satisfied in 2021 than they were in 2020, according to a new Gallup poll. This year, 38% of Americans reported feeling “very dissatisfied” with the “size and power of the federal government” compared to only 30% in 2020.

In fact, the 68 percent of Americans who report feeling either “somewhat dissatisfied” or “very dissatisfied” with federal power represents the highest percentage since 2012, when 69% of Americans reported feeling this way. Since 2001, 2012 and 2021 rank as the top-two years Americans have been most dissatisfied with federal power.

We the People aren’t happy with President Biden’s big-government agenda. Hillary and the rest of the Democrats believe we are, but they’re in for a rude awakening: first, in the 2022 midterm elections. Then, when the people and the states unite to call the first-ever Convention of States.
